The Minnesota Coalition for a People’s Bailout is a coalition of labor, housing, peace and justice, low income peoples’ and student organizations. We are facing the greatest economic crisis since the great depression. Tens of thousands of us in Minnesota are losing jobs and facing layoffs, losing our housing to foreclosures, and experiencing increased suffering and devastation. In light of these challenges, we would like to know what your positions would be on 3 issues, should you be elected Governor of Minnesota.

1) Given that tens of thousands are losing homes to foreclosures and many more renters are being evicted from our homes because of foreclosures, would you commit, as the Governor, to support and pass a two year moratorium on housing foreclosures and evictions?
Yes____ No_____

2) Given that thousands of jobless workers are running out of unemployment insurance, would you, as the Governor, commit to extending unemployment benefits, using state money if necessary, for as long as needed?
Yes____ No_____

3) Given that welfare is the unemployment benefit for poor families, and with the economic crisis, the chances of getting jobs and getting off welfare are slim to none, would you commit as the Governor to put a two year moratorium on the fiver year limit on welfare?
